P.K.14 – 城市天气的航行 (City Weather Sailing)

P.K.14 has been around since 1997, but the only surviving member from the original line-up is singer/songwriter 杨海崧 (Yang HaiSong). They have been called intelligent post-punks. Whether or not that’s true, they do seem to put in a lot more thought into songcraft and arrangement than most Beijing punk bands.

The quartet is a major musical influence for many, prompting one critic to add that there are two phases of indie music in China: before P.K.14 and after P.K.14.
